August 26, 2025

In accordance with league's "Stupidity" rule, the league fines Marchilton Owner/GM Joe Marchildon $10 for drafting a roster of 39 players during the 2025 BPFL Entry Draft, one less than the required amount.  The extra roster spot will be filled in the BPFL Supplemental Draft, where Marchilton will not be required to drop a player to participate.

All eight BPFL Owners met in Adamsburgh for the 2025 BPFL Entry Draft and GM Meetings.

The following rule changes were approved at the meeting, and will be included in the Constitution, with effective dates noted:

-  Beginning with the 2025 BPFL season, offensive players will be eligible to score points with defensive stats.  The base scoring system for the league will be updated to include all defensive status for offensive players, using the DB scoring template as the base.  Special teams tackles will also be counted for offensive players, as they are with the defence.

-  In the rare case where a player is listed on both offensive and defensive depth charts on the team's ESPN depth chart page, the position in which the player is listed as a starter will be his position in the BPFL.  If in subsequent years, if a depth chart review shows the player as starting on both offensive and defensive depth charts, his BPFL position will revert back to the position he was the previous year.  If he is no longer listed as a depth chart starter at his previous year's position, and he is listed as a starter on the other side of the ball, his BPFL position will change accordingly.  If the player is new to the league, and he is listed as a starter on both offensive and defensive depth charts, the BPFL GMs will vote and decide on his position before he is drafted.

-  Beginning in 2025, the deadline to assign and/or activate a player to the Reserve slot will be extended to the lineup submission deadline in Week 14, one week later than the BPFL Trade Deadline.

All eight GMs voted in favour of a change to the way we determine positions for BPFL rostered players.  Beginning with the 2025 Entry Draft, the BPFL will now use the team depth chart pages on ESPN.com as the official determinant for which position that player will hold for that season in the BPFL.  Each August prior to the waiver draft, we will use those ESPN depth chart pages to review rosters and determine any positional changes for that upcoming season.  We will also use those ESPN pages at our entry draft to determine positions for players entering the league, for that season.
